Lessons

 

We provide lessons for guitar, harp, violin, viola, cello, piano, drums, bass, mandolin, banjo, voice, dulcimer, ukelele, woodwinds and brass.  Lessons are taught by the areas finest instructors. Lesson rate is $100.00, billed as a monthly tuition.

Bill Teck - Guitar / Banjo / Ukulele / Mandolin

Bill Teck has been performing and teaching for over 30 years. He studied classical guitar at the University of Pittsburgh. He has performed in many groups ; playing rock, blues, classical, pop, and gospel music. He also plays mandolin, banjo, ukulele, bass, and repairs instruments. Bill started From the Top Music Shop with his wife Renee to share their love of music with others and be an active part of the musical community. “We strive to provide quality instruments, education, and instrument maintenance at an affordable price. “

 

Renee Teck - Piano

At age 3 Renee started her musical journey singing in the family gospel band. At age 11 she began piano and drum lessons and began to accompany the family. Throughout her high school career she sang in the school and honors choirs and would also accompany the choirs on piano. After high school, her attention also turned to guitar and bass, playing for different local ensembles. Today she can be heard singing and playing leading worship for local churches.

 

Scott Spindler - Guitar / Ukulele

Like many young aspiring guitarists growing up in the valley, Scott started taking lessons with Bill Teck in middle school. As time went on, Scott’s interests grew and began making music with friends in High School. After joining a band in college, Scott soon realized music was his true passion so he decided to major in Commercial Music Technology at California University. He joined the school’s jazz band where he met his wife Rosanna. Scott will cater the lessons to each student’s needs and interests.

 

Rosanna Spindler - Voice

Rosanna began her entertainment career at a very young age performing in musical theater productions with Pittsburgh’s Civic Light Opera as well as community centers and her high school.  In college, Rosanna directed an all female a cappella group and sang as the lead vocalist in the jazz band, where she met her now husband, Scott Spindler.  After graduating in 2013, Rosanna has been teaching as a private voice instructor and absolutely loves helping anyone from aspiring to accomplished singers master basic techniques and gain confidence in the power of their voice!

 


 

Joanna Provan - Violin

Joanna Provan grew up in Eighty Four, PA. She has been playing her violin for 21 years. Wife and full time mother of three, she now lives and works in Monongahela as a coffeehouse owner, and violin/fiddle instructor. "

 

Tamika Arnold - Voice / Piano

I'm a W&J graduate of 2016 with a B.A. in Psychology and Minor in Music. I have been playing the piano for 16 years and have studied multiple genres. I'm classically trained & have a heart for Jazz, as well as R&B music. Vocally, I have studied for 4 years and have participated in choirs for 10 years. I am classically trained: Concentrations in Italian/French opera as well as Jazz and R&B music.

 

 

Marcia Barna - Piano

Hi!  I’m Marcia Barna. I have been teaching piano since I was 19 years old!  Trained mostly in classical music , I teach all styles of piano.  My students range in age from 6 to 80!  Music is my passion and I get so much satisfaction in watching each individual develop skills at their own pace!

 

Samantha Douglas -Brass and Woodwinds

Sam graduated from Westminster College in New Wilmington in May 2021 with her Bachleor’s in music. Since then, she has been teaching music in a local district and working closely with the marching band there. Sam has been working at From the Top music shop since 2020 and frequently plays musicals around Western Pa.

 

Brendan Mickoloff - Bass/ Guitar

Brendan Mickoloff is a guitar and bass teacher at From the Top Music Shop who studied Commercial Music Technology at Cal-U. Brendan plays bass in the band Haven State and is involved in several other musical endeavors.

 

Jason Cursi - Drums

Jason Cursi has been playing drums and percussion since 1975 and has been teaching for around 30 years. He has performed music ranging from classical to metal and everything in between. He has worked for and with many well known musicians, producers and record labels. Jason is committed to the needs of each student and lessons are structured accordingly.
